Classes designed for both beginning and experienced students and offering opportunities to update skills for career advancement. Certificates are awarded for successful completion of courses. Continuous enrollment, start anytime of the year. There may be a waiting list. Inquire in the classroom to be put on the waiting list. Courses feature individualized instruction and hands-on experience. A 3,000-sq. ft. facility featuring conventional and computerized equipment, blueprint reading and machine shop math.

Basic Machine Shop
This course offers machinist training that provides hands-on experience with:
  • Lathes
  • Vertical and horizontal mills
  • Surface grinders
  • Measuring tools
  • Bench operations
  • Shop math
  • Blueprint reading


Introduction To CNC Operations and Programming
This course provides an introduction to the basic concepts of CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) control of machine tools. Instruction covers:
  • Interpretation of program manuscripts
  • Safe shop practices
  • Hands-on operation of HAAS CNC Vertical Mills and CNC Slant Bed Lathe
  • Fadal VMC15
  • Computer simulations of multiple controllers
  • Advanced shop math
Prerequisites: Basic Machine Shop course, or prior machine shop experience and instructor's approval.

Introduction To CAD/CAM Programming
Basic operations of Master CAM or Gibbs CAM as applied to machining industry. Program is designed for both the computer- and non-computer literate student.

Prerequisites: Introduction to CNC Operations and Programming, or prior machine shop experience and instructor's approval.
